We love kids and while we look young and fabulous, some of us even have them. We also strive to create a relaxing environment for all of our guests -especially parents needing some me-time. Therefore, unless your kiddo is actively getting their hair done, please leave them at home. Preferably with someone to watch them.

We know it is customary to tip your hairdresser but at Polite Society we do not accept gratuity. Our prices reflect our talent and experience as artists and we have removed monetary tipping from our salon. If you have an exceptional experience and would like to show appreciation, we would love it if you left a review on Google.

Great question! Currently, Rachael is our modern perm specialist. The first thing you need to do is book a “New Client Consultation.” During that time, Rachael will talk in depth about your goals as well as asses your hair condition and do a test strand to make sure you are a good candidate for a perm. This step is required before scheduling the perm appointment.
At the end of the consultation, if you both feel good, Rachael will schedule you for your perm.
ps. To keep in line with our effort to use only high-quality, low-tox products, our perm system is:
Ammonia, pareben and thiogycolate (TGC) free, certified organic ingredients, contains fewer chemicals, matches natural pH levels, made with beneficial fruit acids and plant proteins and is not tested on animals.
Feel free to email us if you have any additional questions! hello@politesocietyhairsalon.com

A New Client Consultation is a 15-30 minute chat with a stylist before booking a regular appointment. For $30, you can meet your (potential) stylist, discuss your haircut or color, and get personalized advice—feel free to bring photos! Plus, the $30 fee is discounted from your next service.
While a new client consultation is a great option, it’s not necessary in order to book a regular cut or color appointment as you will still receive a thorough consultation for every service. However, it is required for perms or large color corrections where a strand test is necessary.
